The starting point for any career in COWI is professional competence. You must be a specialist within your own discipline and be able and willing to work together with other specialist to the advantage of our customers.

The basis for any career in COWI is project work. We are all engaged in work with larger or smaller projects, as project managers or project team members. In COWI’s career system you can grow in different directions, irrespective of whether you see yourself as a project manager, consultant or specialist.

The career system contains four equivalent career tracks:

  • Project management 
  • Line management 
  • Professional specialist 
  • Business development
Changing track

We often have different needs and passion at different stages of our lives. You will not be boxed in by your initial choice of career track, and it is possible to change if you seek different challenges.

Unlimited possibilities The size, diversity and global presence of COWI open up virtually unlimited career options. We create a dialogue-based Personal Development Plan to ensure mutual understanding and acceptance of each employee’s career choices. The Development Plan is revised in a bi-annual cycle, or when required by significant changes in circumstances.
