COWI in Oman moves into new environmentally friendly office

COWI Oman occupies the entire second floor of this brand new and energy efficient office building in Muscat's Qurum district.
A brand new office building in the Omani capital Muscat opened its doors on Saturday 2 July to COWI Oman. The need for more space and a wish to leave a greener footprint were among the reasons for the move.

Just a few weeks ago COWI & Partners' office in Oman received a so-called Special Commendation from the organisers behind the Oman Green Awards for the office's measures and steps to effectively reduce its carbon footprint.

Among the reasons for this green acclamation was COWI's involvement in the designing and supervision of a new four-storey and energy efficient office building in Muscat - the same construction that a joint COWI Oman has just moved into this week.

The move is quite an expensive action in the first place but will reflect COWI's commitment to climate solutions and not least save costs in the long run; thanks to the very well insulated structures, a ten fold
improvement in air condition costs is for instance expected.

Beautiful views and prominent neighbours
Offering its future business residents both mountain, ocean and bird sanctuary views, the recently developed premises are located in the Qurum area just a ten minutes drive from COWI's old office in Muscat's Ruwi district.

Neighbours comprise the soon-to-be-opened Royal Opera House as well as the city's future Children's Public Library - both projects included in COWI Oman's building portfolio.

Access to the office is easy, and with the Opera House as a notable landmark it is hard to miss the setting. New address together with an updated location map can be found and downloaded in the right hand box. All contact numbers remain unchanged.
