COWI has undertaken more than 600 airport projects worldwide and employs a large number of specialists in a variety of disciplines within the different fields of airport planning, design construction, operation and management.

In the Gulf, COWI has been involved in airport development in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and we are currently providing lead consultancy services in the development of the new international airports of Muscat and Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman.

Airport Planning COWI’s extensive experience in airport planning is gained from projects ranging from major international airports utilized by the largest aircraft to small domestic airports.

Project Management Securing the quality, cost and time schedule of a major development program is a competence obtained by COWI from undertaking a large number of major international airport assignments.

Functionality and flexibility
In collaboration with architects, COWI develops state-of-art engineering for passenger and freight terminal buildings, air traffic control towers and other airport buildings which are both functional and flexible.

Sustainable development
Sustainable engineering is one of the key elements of our involvement in airport projects. In particular, our pavement engineers have developed unique methods for processing recycled materials for incorporation in both concrete and asphalt pavements.
